Duralink64 Drivers for NetWare Creating the Failover Pair, Port Aggregation or FEC Groups The Failover pair consists of only two ports: the primary port and the backup port. FEC supports either two or four ports. One, three, or more than four ports are not supported. After configuring ports, you may create Standalone, Failover, Port Aggregation, or FEC groups using the following steps: 1 In the Configuration Menu, select Set Groups, and press Enter. 2 In the List of Existing Groups box, press Ins to add a new group. The message No groups currently exist appears the first time you add a new group1. 3 Select the group, and press Enter. Group1 is the new group's default name. 4 In the Group Configuration menu, select Set Group Type, and press Enter. The Set Group Type menu appears. 5 In the Set Group Type menu, select Standalone, Failover, Port Aggregation, or Fast EtherChannel, and press Enter. 6 In the Group Configuration menu, select Add/Remove Ports, and press Enter. The Existing Ports box appears. 7 In the Existing Ports box, the message No Ports Present appears the first time you add a new group. Press Ins. 8 In the Available Ports box, use the arrow keys to select the ports for the new group, and press Enter. Repeat until all ports are selected. 9 Press Esc to return to the Group Configuration menu. The selected ports are transferred to the Existing Ports box. 10 OPTIONAL. configsf automatically assigns a name to each new group. For example, the first group = Group1. To assign a unique name to a group: a From the Group Configuration menu, select Set Group Name, and press Enter. 1 If you are in configsf, this message appears only when no groups are found. 5-9
