It is advisable to keep the default settings as set at the factory unless it is absolutely necessary to change them. The following fields can be set: Parameter Description Spanning Tree Protocol This field can be toggled between Enabled and Disabled using the pulldown menu. This will enable or disable the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), globally, for the switch. Bridge Max Age (6-40 Sec) The Bridge Maximum Age can be set from 6 to 40 seconds. At the end of the Max. Age, if a BPDU has still not been received from the Root Bridge, your switch will start sending its own BPDU to all other switches for permission to become the Root Bridge.
