About License Pools The license pool is used to administer non-trial licenses. The number assigned to the pool indicates how many licenses can be allocated. Each group maintains a number (or pool) of allocated licenses. A license pool with zero (0) defined, represents an unlimited pool of licenses. For example, if the license pool is set to 50, a group can allocate a maximum of 50 licenses across the group and subgroups. After the threshold of group licenses is met, if additional agent licenses are needed, these agents need to use trial licenses, and a notification e-mail is sent to the group administrator with the following message: The license pool has been exhausted but the machine for group is being protected for 14 days. Please contact , to acquire more licenses. License pools can be set at the group and subgroup levels. If the license pool is set to zero (0) for the group, an unlimited number of licenses can be distributed for the group. If the license pool is set to zero (0) for a subgroup, all licenses are allocated from the parent group. If you enter zero (0) for a subgroup, you automatically indicate to draw licenses from the parent group. Administrators can also choose to define a value (greater than zero (0)) for the license pool and set the Draw licenses from a parent group option. Doing so specifies that no less than the quantity of licenses defined for the license pool are allocated. Viewing Your License Key To view your license key using the license portal: 1.
