Caution Make sure you ground yourself before you touch the processor chip. Then remain as stationary as possible while you install it. Do not touch the pins on the processor chip. Handle the microprocessor only by the edges of its case. 3. Position the chip puller between the processor chip and the socket. 4. Gently pull the processor chip straight up and set it aside. 5. Remove the new chip from its package and inspect the pins. If they are bent, do not install the chip. Contact your vendor for a new microprocessor. 6.
