88 Exchanging Messages and Using Outlook 6.1 Using E-mail and Text Messages Messaging is where all of your e-mail accounts and your text message account are located. You can send and receive Outlook e-mail, Internet e-mail through an Internet service provider (ISP), and text messages. You can also access e-mail from work using a virtual private network (VPN) connection. You can access e-mail through various methods: • Set up USB cable and Microsoft® ActiveSync to synchronize with a computer • Synchronizing wirelessly with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 (if server is set up for wireless synchronization) • Set up T-Mobile My E-mail • Set up POP3/IMAP4 E-mail account • Set up Pocket MSN Hotmail Set up USB cable and Microsoft ActiveSync to synchronize with a computer Synchronizing with computer using USB cable You can synchronize e-mail, calendar, and contacts directly with your computer by connecting the phone to the computer using the USB cable Before you can synchronize using the USB cable, you must first install Microsoft® ActiveSync 4.2 or higher and Microsoft® Outlook (if you do not have it already) on your computer. ActiveSync is a synchronization program that allows you to: • Synchronize your e-mail, calendar, tasks, contacts, notes, and Internet Explorer Favorites between your phone and your computer • Copy files between your phone and your computer • Install applications onto your phone • Back up and restore phone information

6.1 Using E-mail and Text Messages
Messaging
is where all of your e-mail accounts and your text message
account are located. You can send and receive Outlook e-mail, Internet
e-mail through an Internet service provider (ISP), and text messages. You
can also access e-mail from work using a virtual private network (VPN)
connection.
You can access e-mail through various methods:
Set up USB cable and Microsoft® ActiveSync to synchronize with a
computer
Synchronizing wirelessly with a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 (if
server is set up for wireless synchronization)
Set up T-Mobile My E-mail
Set up POP3/IMAP4 E-mail account

Synchronizing with computer using USB cable
You can synchronize e-mail, calendar, and contacts directly with your
computer by connecting the phone to the computer using the USB cable
Before you can synchronize using the USB cable, you must first install
Microsoft® ActiveSync 4.2 or higher and Microsoft® Outlook (if you do not
have it already) on your computer. ActiveSync is a synchronization program
that allows you to:
Synchronize your e-mail, calendar, tasks, contacts, notes, and Internet
