Note When you install the client software on the user computer, the setup program detects if there is an HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner on the network. It gives you the opportunity to designate a target program as the preferred inbox for documents scanned with the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner. To move e-mail addresses from the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner to the digital sender You can export e-mail addresses in the HP ScanJet Utility to the digital sender HP Address Book Manager. In the HP ScanJet Utility, export the e-mail addresses in .csv (comma-separated value) format. Then use the ABM import procedure to import them for use with the digital sender. The e-mail feature was added to the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner with firmware version 2.0. The ability to export e-mail addresses assumes you have upgraded to firmware version 2.0. If you do not plan to use the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner any longer, uninstall it before you install the digital sender. The reason for this is that the digital sender comes with two versions of the HP Digital Sender Service that supports the fax functionality-one to handle networks with just the digital sender, and a more extensive one to handle networks with both the digital sender and the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner. If the setup program detects an HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner on the network, it installs the more extensive service. This more extensive service places a larger load on your network than the service for the digital sender alone. If you plan to use both the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner and the digital sender on the same network, make sure that all the software for the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner is currently installed before you install the digital sender. The HP Digital Sender Service is installed as a service associated with an existing user account. 2 - Installing and configuring

When you install the client software on the user computer, the setup

program detects if there is an HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner on the

network. It gives you the opportunity to designate a target program as

the preferred inbox for documents scanned with the HP Network

ScanJet 5 scanner.

To move e-mail addresses from the HP Network

ScanJet 5 scanner to the digital sender

You can export e-mail addresses in the HP ScanJet Utility to the

digital sender HP Address Book Manager. In the HP ScanJet Utility,

export the e-mail addresses in .csv (comma-separated value) format.

Then use the ABM import procedure to import them for use with the

digital sender.

Note

The e-mail feature was added to the HP Network ScanJet 5 scanner

with firmware version 2.0. The ability to export e-mail addresses

assumes you have upgraded to firmware version 2.0.
