3 Troubleshooting Your HP Kayak PC Workstation If Your PC Workstation Has a Hardware Problem If Your Mouse Does Not Work • Ensure that the mouse is correctly connected. • Ensure that the mouse driver supplied with the preloaded software is installed correctly. • Clean the mouse ball and rollers as shown in the figure below (use a non-residual contact cleaner). Cleaning the mouse ball Cleaning the mouse rollers If the Flexible Disk Drive Does Not Work • Check that you are using a formatted diskette and it is inserted correctly. • Check you are using a diskette that is the correct density. • Check that the flexible disk drive is correctly configured in the Setup program (Advanced > Flexible Disk Drive). • Check that the flexible disk drive is not disabled in the Setup program (Advanced > Flexible Disk Drive). • Check that the Flexible Disks and the Write on Flexible Disks items are not set to locked in the Setup program (Security > Hardware Protection). • Clean the flexible disk drive using a diskette cleaning kit. • Check that the disk power and data cables are correctly connected.
