7. Standing at the front of the printer, clean the front rail using a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water, and if needed isopropyl alcohol. NOTE: If you are in an area (such as California) that regulates VOC cleaning and maintenance fluids, instead of isopropyl alcohol use a VOC-certified cleaner such as a properly diluted Simple Green All-Purpose Cleaner. 8. Close the front door. 9. Go to the rear of the printer and open the loading table. 10. Standing at the rear of the printer, clean the rear rail in the same way. You can access the rail from below, through the gap between the platen and the beam. CAUTION: Be careful not to stain the encoder strip. Keep the cloth well away from the encoder housing. 11.
