Removal and Replacement Procedures PCI-X Guide Clips To remove a PCI-X guide clip: 1. Power down and remove power from the server. Refer to "Powering Down the Server" in this chapter. 2. Unlock and open the front bezel (tower server only). IMPORTANT: You must unlock the tower bezel before removing the access panel. Refer to "Front Bezel" in this chapter. 3. Remove the access panel. Refer to "Access Panel" in this chapter. 4. Remove the PCI-X expansion boards. Refer to "PCI-X Expansion Boards" in this chapter. 5. Pull the bottom of the clip out (1) while pushing down on the top of the guide clip (2). 6. When the tabs align with the slots, pull the guide clip away from the center wall (3). Removal and Replacement Procedures
PCI-X Guide Clips
To remove a PCI-X guide clip:
1.
Power down and remove power from the server. Refer to “Powering Down the Server” in
this chapter.
2.
Unlock and open the front bezel (tower server only).
IMPORTANT:
You must unlock the tower bezel before removing the access panel. Refer to “Front
Bezel” in this chapter.
3.
Remove the access panel. Refer to “Access Panel” in this chapter.
4.
Remove the PCI-X expansion boards. Refer to “PCI-X Expansion Boards” in this
chapter.
5.
Pull the bottom of the clip out (1) while pushing down on the top of the guide clip (2).
6.
When the tabs align with the slots, pull the guide clip away from the center wall (3).

7.
Remove the guide clip from the server.
To replace a PCI-X guide clip, reverse steps 5 through 7.
