Appendix A: Batteries and accessories Managing batteries When the batteries are removed from the camera, the date and time settings are preserved for approximately 10 minutes. If the camera is without batteries for longer than 10 minutes, the clock is set to the last time and date at which the camera was used. You may be prompted to update the date and time. The following battery levels are displayed on the Status LCD and the Image Display. Icon Level Description Full Batteries have 30 -100 percent remaining Partially full Batteries have 10 - 30 percent remaining Empty Batteries have less than 10 percent remaining None N/A Camera is operating on AC power The camera uses four AA batteries. Acceptable batteries include photo-lithium, "ultra" or "premium" grade alkaline, or rechargeable NiMH. For the best results with your camera, use photo-lithium or NiMH batteries. NOTE If you do not intend to use your camera for extended periods of time (more than a month), we strongly recommend that you remove the batteries from the camera.
