Prepare the computer for disassembly. Removing the Battery Pack Palmrest Cover with Touch Pad Keyboard Heatspreader Status Panel Interface Board Hard Drive Battery Charger Board Removing the Screws from the CD Guide Support Bracket CD Drive Display Assembly Plastic Subpanel Assembly CD Drive Cable Speaker Assembly Modem Diskette Drive Fan Audio Assembly Board System Board Memory Module 2. Remove the palmrest cover with touch pad. 3. Remove the keyboard. 4. Remove the heatspreader 5. Remove the hard drives 6. Remove the stiffener bracket 7. Remove the CD drive and hard drive cable shield 8. Remove the four screws from the CD Guide support bracket and remove the CD Guide support bracket and PCMCIA shield as shown. Next NOTE: When replacing the CD Guide support bracket, ensure the PCMCIA shield is properly replaced.
