Replacing the Real Time (RTC) Module Parts Removal and Replacement Real Time Clock (RTC) Module CAUTION Explosion may result if the battery is incorrectly installed. Polarity dots must be aligned. 1. Remove the new RTC Module from its packaging. Locate the polarity dot on the clock module and align it with the polarity dot on the system board connector. 2. Press the RTC Module firmly into the system board, taking care not to bend the pins. 3. Connect the 6-pin power supply cable to the system board. Chapter 2 43

Parts Removal and Replacement
Real Time Clock (RTC) Module
Replacing the Real Time (RTC) Module
CAUTION
Explosion may result if the battery is incorrectly installed. Polarity dots must
be aligned.
1.
Remove the new RTC Module from its packaging. Locate the polarity dot on the clock
module and align it with the polarity dot on the system board connector.
2.
Press the RTC Module firmly into the system board, taking care not to bend the pins.
3.
Connect the 6-pin power supply cable to the system board.
