Remove the new fan from its packaging and face the back of the workstaion. For the top fan, position the fan with its power cable channel to the upper right and up against the chassis. For the lower fan, position the fan with power cable channel to the lower right and up against the chassis and then slide its lower corner into the fan support. 2. Align the fan rivet holes with the chassis rivet holes and insert the rivets by pressing them in with your thumb. 3. Connect the fan power cable to the system board. NOTE Use the new rivets that were packaged with the new fan. Older rivets can become distorted over time and may prove difficult to reinsert. Chapter 2 45

Replacing the System Board Cooling Fans
1. Remove the new fan from its packaging and face the back of the workstaion. For the top
fan, position the fan with its power cable channel to the upper right and up against the
