6.1.2 Installation and System Requirements The installation and system requirements for the CIM installation are: • For Windows systems: - Windows NT version 4.0, service pack 6 or above - Windows 2000, service pack 2 or above - Windows XP - Windows Server 2003 - Windows .NET • For Linux systems: - SuSE Linux version 7.0 or 8.0 - SuSE Linux Enterprise Server version 7 - Red Hat Linux versions 7.3, 8.0, or 9.0 - Red Hat Advanced Server version 2.1 • 20 Mbytes of available disk space for Windows installations; 40 Mbytes of available disk space for Linux installations • TCP/IP protocol installed and enabled • Video card support for at least 256 colors • Desktop area of 800 x 600 pixels or greater (1024 x 768 pixels recommended) On Linux-based systems, LSI Logic recommends viewing under KDE or GNOME.
