1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. 2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer. 3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer. 4. Remove any SD card or SD blank from the computer. 5. Remove the service door (see Service door on page 36). 6. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 39). 7. Remove the hard drives (see Hard drive on page 42). 8. Remove the SSDs (see Solid-state drives (M.2) on page 48). 9. Remove the middle frame (see Middle frame on page 58). 10. Remove the speakers (see Speakers on page 62). 11. Remove the fans (see Fans on page 68). 12. Remove the keyboard (see Keyboard on page 75). NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the defective system board and installed on the replacement system board: ● WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 50) ● WWAN module (see WWAN module on page 52) ● Memory module (see Memory module on page 54) ● Heat sink (see Heat sink on page 71) NOTE: You do not have to remove the heat sink to remove the system board. Remove the system board: 1.
