Chapter 2. IBM TotalStorage DS300 storage subsystem type 1701 (models 1RL, 1RS, 2RD) This chapter covers basic hardware maintenance information for the DS300 storage subsystem type 1701 (models 1RL, 1RS, 2RD). For more detailed information on the installation and use of the DS300 storage subsystem, refer to the DS300 and DS400 Hardware Installation and User's Guide. Note: The problem determination maps found in the DS300 and DS400 Problem Determination Guides provide you with additional diagnostic aids. General checkout Use the status LEDs, ServeRAID Manager software, and the Symptom-to-FRU index to diagnose problems. See "Storage subsystem controls and LEDs" on page 10, "Monitoring status through software" on page 12, and "Symptom-to-FRU index" on page 13. To diagnose problems with the DS300 storage subsystem, you can also refer to the DS300 and DS400 Problem Determination Guides. The guide addresses problems that you might encounter with the DS300 or DS400 storage subsystem during and after installation. It uses flowcharting techniques to guide you in the isolation and correction of problems.
