DS400 storage subsystem model 1700-2RD rear view Fibre Channel RAID controller The DS400 storage subsystem comes with one or two Fibre Channel RAID controllers. Each Fibre Channel RAID controller has one 1 Gb/sec (gigabit per second) Ethernet connector for management, two 2 Gb/sec Fibre Channel host ports, and 12 LEDs. If the storage subsystem comes with only one RAID controller, there is a filler panel in the right RAID controller bay (side B). The filler panel must remain in place to maintain proper cooling. Each RAID controller also contains a battery to maintain cache data in the event of a power failure. For more information, see "Cache memory and RAID controller battery" on page 26.. Power supply The DS400 storage subsystem contains two hot-swap power supplies. Each unit is a self-contained power supply with three integral cooling fans, a power switch, and two status LEDs.
