Controls and Indicators The most commonly used controls and indicators on the front of the server appear in the following illustration. Information LED Panel Power Control Button Reset Button Diskette Drive In-Use Light Diskette Drive Eject Button CD-ROM In-Use Light CD-ROM Eject/Load Button Door Lock (On Side Cover) Hard Disk Activity Light Hard Disk Status Light Door Lock (Tower Model Only): You can lock the door on your server to deter tampering with the internal components. This same lock also locks the top cover in place. Power Control Button: Press this button to manually turn the server on or off. Caution The Power Control button on the front of the server does not turn off the electrical current supplied to the server. The server also might have more than one power cord. To remove all electrical current from the server, ensure that all power cords are disconnected from the power source. The server can be activated in several ways: You can turn the server on by pressing the Power Control button on the front of the server. Note If you have just plugged the power cord of your server into an electrical outlet, you will have to wait approximately 20 seconds before pressing the Power Control button. If the server is activated and a power failure occurs, the server will start automatically. 158 Netfinity Server HMM
