v Adaptive Networking Services uses network intelligence to anticipate congestion and to dynamically make adjustments in the fabric so that application traffic continues to flow v Extended distance support enables full performance for native Fibre Channel extension with support of up to 3000 km for native Fibre Channel. v Dynamic Path Selection (DPS) optimizes fabric-wide performance and load balancing by automatically routing data to the most efficient available path in the fabric. v Frame filtering resources have been increased to provide expanded security for up to 16,000 hardware zones. Hardware zoning is accomplished at the port level of the switch or by World Wide Name (WWN). v Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers support any combination of Short Wave (SW), Long Wave (LW), or Extended Long Wave (ELW) optical media on a single switch. Supported connectivity Specific details on supported operating systems, servers, and devices, storage products attachability, SAN connectivity products, and configuration options can be found in the interoperability matrices at the following web site: www.ibm.com/ servers/storage/support/san.
