About GPS The GPS receiver in the CV41 delivers standards-based National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) data strings to GPS applications. To use the GPS receiver, you need to: • enable WWAN communications. For more information, see "Use WWAN and GPS Communications" on page 81. • install an external GPS antenna to the CV41. For more information, see "Connect an External Antenna" on page 19. For more information on purchasing an external GPS antenna, contact your local Intermec representative. Test the GPS Receiver Use this section to learn how to test the GPS receiver on the CV41 using the Gobi Connection Manager. 1 Make sure WWAN communications is enabled. For more information, see "Use WWAN and GPS Communications" on page 81. 2 Make sure an external GPS antenna is connected. For more information, see "Connect an External Antenna" on page 19. 3 Select Start > Programs > GobiCM > GobiCMExe. 4 Select the GPS tab and tap Start.
