Using MFP menus Menu item Factory Defaults Purpose Returns MFP settings to the factory default values. Values and descriptions Restore Now User-defined settings remain. Do Not Restore* • All menu items are returned to the factory default values except: - Display Language. - All settings in the Fax, E-mail, and FTP Settings menu items, the Standard Parallel and Parallel menu items, the Standard Serial and Serial menu items, the Standard Network and Network menu items, and the Standard USB and USB menu items. • All downloaded resources (fonts, macros, and symbol sets) in printer memory (RAM) are deleted. (Resources residing in flash memory or on the hard disk are unaffected.) Copy Settings Use these menu items to set the MFP for settings related to copying. Menu item Content Purpose Specifies the type of content contained in the copy job. Values and descriptions Text The copy job contains mostly text or line art. Text/Photo* The copy job contains a mixture of text and graphics. Photograph The copy job is a high quality photograph or high quality inkjet print that is primarily composed of images. Printed image The copy job is halftoned, such as documents printed on a laser printer or pages from a magazine that are primarily composed of images. A halftone is a collection of black and white dots arranged to simulate the brightness values of grayscale images. Settings 47

Using MFP menus
Copy Settings
Use these menu items to set the MFP for settings related to copying.
Factory Defaults
Returns MFP settings to the
factory default values.
Restore Now
User-defined settings remain.
Do Not Restore*
All menu items are returned to the factory
default values except:
Display Language.
All settings in the Fax, E-mail, and FTP
Settings menu items, the Standard
Parallel and Parallel <x> menu items,
the Standard Serial and Serial <x>
menu items, the Standard Network and
Network <x> menu items, and the
Standard USB and USB <x> menu
items.
