WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Disconnect power before servicing. Replace all parts and panels before operating. Failure to do so can result in death or electrical shock. THERMAL CUTOFF (TCO) AND INLET THERMISTOR/ HIGH-LIMIT THERMOSTAT (ELECTRIC MODELS ONLY) Thermal Cutoff (TCO) Thermal Cutoff (TCO) Inlet Thermistor / High-Limit Thermostat High-Limit Thermostat Terminals Refer to page 4-14 for the procedure for accessing the thermal cutoff (TCO) and inlet thermistor/high-limit thermostat. 1. Unplug dryer or disconnect power. 2. Disconnect the wires from the component you are testing. 3. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 1 scale. 4. Thermal Cutoff and High-Limit Thermostat: Touch the ohmmeter test lead to the component terminals. The meter should indicate continuity (0 Ω). 5. Set the ohmmeter to the R x 100K scale. 6. Inlet Thermistor: Use the following chart to check the thermistor: INLET THERMISTOR RESISTANCE TEMP. °F (°C) RES. RANGE kΩ TEMP. °F (°C) RES.
