Obtaining and Installing Operating Software Obtaining and Installing Operating Software Introduction This section briefly describes how to obtain and install the software into your Vanguard 34x device. Note After the software has been loaded, refer to the appropriate user documentation to configure and use the different software options. Where to Get You can obtain Vanguard Applications Ware Packages that can be tailored to your Operating Software specific needs. You can obtain operating software for your Vanguard 34x from: 1) the Vanguide CD-ROM, using the following path: \VanguardMS\Sfw_imgs\V340 2) the WWW, using the following URL: https://secure.vanguardms.com Note All software must be unlocked using the Software Unlocking Utility. Be sure that you have serial numbers for each Applications Ware package before using the unlocking utility. If you do not have serial numbers for the Applications Ware package contact your distributor, VanguardMS sales or service. Operating Software The operating software is compressed in FLASH and loaded into the SDRAM for execution. There are a variety of operating software feature sets available for the Vanguard 34x. • For feature information on the operating software available for your device, refer to the Software Release Notice included on the CD-ROM. • For information on installing the operating software, refer to the Vanguard Software Installation and Coldloading Manual (Part Number T0028) included on the CD-ROM. Optional Software The Applications Ware packages are divided into licenses available for Vanguard products. These licenses include: • IP+ Package • SNA+ Package • Multi-Service Package For details about the contents of the Applications Ware License Upgrade packages and how they can be obtained, refer to the latest Software Release Notice. Introduction
This section briefly describes how to obtain and install the software into your
Vanguard 34x device.
Note
After the software has been loaded, refer to the appropriate user documentation
to configure and use the different software options.
Where to Get
Operating Software
You can obtain Vanguard Applications Ware Packages that can be tailored to your
specific needs.
You can obtain operating software for your Vanguard 34x from:

the Vanguide CD-ROM, using the following path:
\VanguardMS\Sfw_imgs\V340

Note
All software must be unlocked using the Software Unlocking Utility. Be sure
that you have serial numbers for each Applications Ware package before using
the unlocking utility. If you do not have serial numbers for the Applications
Ware package contact your distributor, VanguardMS sales or service.
