Target Applications Video and Serial Protocols over Public or Private Networks Introduction As shown in Figure 1-4, the Vanguard 340 and 340 Enhanced can support encapsulation of video and serial protocols over public or private networks. This use of Vanguard 34x suits banking applications such as Automated Bank Machines (ABMs). With Dial on Demand software feature enabled, the Vanguard 34x initiates a connection only when there is a data transfer, that is only for the duration of a bank transaction. The RemoteVU Daughtercard can capture video and send video streams to the central bank's security system.
