7. Operation Turning On / Off the Projector Turning On the Projector 1 Complete peripheral connections (with a computer, VCR, etc.) before turning on the projector. (Refer to "Installation" on page 15~16) 2 Connect the projector's AC power cord into an AC outlet. The Power Indicator lights red(dim), and the Standby Indicator lights green. Note : When "On start" function is ON, this projector is turned on automatically when connecting the AC power cord to an AC outlet. (Refer to page 37.) 3 Press Standby/On button on the top control or on button on the remote control. The Power Indicator dims, and the cooling fans start to rotate. Preparation Display appears on the screen and count-down starts. The signal from a PC or video source comes up after 30 seconds. Current Input position and Lamp mode status are also displayed on the screen for 5 seconds. (Refer to "Lamp mode" on page 37.) Turning Off the Projector 1 Press Standby/On button on the top control or off button on the remote control. The message "Power off?" appears on the screen. 2 Press Standby/On button on the top control or off button on the remote control again to turn off the projector. The Power Indicator turns bright red and the Standby Indicator turns off. The cooling fans remain running for 90 seconds after the projector is turned off. During this "Cooling Down" period, the projector cannot be turned on. 3 When the projector has been cooled down, the Standby Indicator lights on again and you can turn on the projector. Then AC power cord can be disconnected if necessary. To maintain the lamp-life, once you turn on the projector, wait at least 5 minutes before turning it off. Turning On / Off the Projector Preparation Display disappears after 30 seconds. Input position and Lamp mode status Message disappears after 4 seconds. When "Power management" function is ON, the projector turns off its lamp when the signal is interrupted and no button is pressed for a certain period. Refer to "Power management" on page 37. When the Temperature Warning Indicator flashes red, the projector will automatically shut itself off. Wait at least 5 minutes, and confirm if the Standby Indicator will light on and the projector can be turned on by pressing the Standby/On button. If the Temperature Warning Indicator continues to flash, refer to the section "Maintenance" on page 39 to take a proper maintenance. 20
