Playing songs on iPod Section 08 English Listening to songs on your iPod 1 2 You can use this unit to control an interface adapter for iPod, which is sold separately. These are the basic steps necessary to operate an iPod adapter. More advanced iPod adapter operation is explained starting on Introduction of advanced iPod adapter operation on page 39. 1 Song number indicator Shows the number of song played in the selected list. 2 Play time indicator Shows the elapsed playing time of the current song. 1 Press SOURCE to select the iPod. Press SOURCE until you see iPod displayed. 2 To perform fast forward or reverse, push and hold MULTI-CONTROL left or right. 3 To skip back or forward to another song, push MULTI-CONTROL left or right. Pushing MULTI-CONTROL right skips to the start of the next song. Pushing MULTI-CONTROL left once skips to the start of the current song. Pushing again will skip to the previous song. Browsing for a song Operations to control an iPod with this unit is designed to be as close to the iPod as possible to make operation and song search easy. 1 Turn MULTI-CONTROL to switch to the top menu of the list search. # You can also perform this operation by pressing joystick on the remote control. 2 Use MULTI-CONTROL to select a category. Turn to change the category; press to select. Playlists (playlists)-Artists (artists)- Albums (albums)-Songs (songs)-Genres (genres) List for the selected category is displayed. # You can start playback throughout the selected category by pressing and holding MULTI-CONTROL. # You can also change the category by pushing MULTI-CONTROL up or down. # You can also select the category by pushing MULTI-CONTROL right. # To return to the previous list, push MULTI-CONTROL left. # To go to the top menu of the list search, push and hold MULTI-CONTROL left. # If you do not operate the list within about 30 seconds, the list search is cancelled automatically.
