4. Configuring the Machine Using Utilities Details Item Default Gateway Address DNS Server DHCPv6 Mode IAID LPR RAW IPP Description Enter the default gateway address. The default gateway address is the IP address of the host or router used as the gateway when communicating (printing or exchanging information) with a computer on another network. When using DHCP, the default gateway address obtained from the DHCP server is used. If the address cannot be obtained from the DHCP server, the default gateway address set for the device is used. Select whether to use the DNS server obtained from the DHCP server, or the DNS server set for the device. Select an operation mode for DHCPv6. • DHCPv6 Operates in DHCPv6 mode. Obtains the IPv6 address and other parameters. • DHCPv6-lite Operates in DHCPv6-lite mode. Obtains parameters except the IPv6 address. IAID is ID to identity IPv6 address and it is needed for acquiring reserved IPv6 address. Select to enable network printing using LPR/LPD. Select to enable network raw printing. Select to enable network printing using Internet Print Protocol. Configuring the SNMP Settings Click [SNMP] to display the page for configuring the SNMP settings. 44
