Before Use To Install DirectX 8.0a If your operating system is Windows 2000 or Windows Me, you need DirectX 8.0a or later. If DirectX 8.0a or later is not installed on your computer, you need to install it in advance. Insert the MovieShaker CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Clicking "Install MovieShaker" on the displayed screen (page 11) will display the screen where you can select software to install. When you click "Install DirectX 8.0a" on this screen, installation of DirectX 8.0a will start. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish the installation. If you are running Windows 2000 If your operating system is Windows 2000, you need to update Windows 2000. Insert the MovieShaker CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Clicking "Install MovieShaker" on the displayed screen (page 11) will display the screen where you can select software to install. When you click "Update Windows 2000" on this screen, the update of Windows 2000 will start. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish updating. If you are running Windows Me If your operating system is Windows Me, you need to update Windows Me. Insert the MovieShaker CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Clicking "Install MovieShaker" on the displayed screen (page 11) will display the screen where you can select software to install. When you click "Update (1) Windows Me" on this screen, the update of Windows Me will start. After "Update (1) Windows Me" is finished, continue by clicking "Update (2) Windows Me." Follow the instructions on the screen to finish updating. Note When you connect the MICROMV device to your computer for the first time, depending on the computer configuration, the "Version Conflict" dialog (dialogue) box may appear. When the dialog (dialogue) box appears, be sure to click "Yes." 17
