Logging installation information Symantec Packager lets you record information about the installation in a log file. Upon deployment of a package, the log file is written to the system temp environment (%windir%\temp). For a local installation, the log file is written to the temp environment of the logged-in user. This information helps you determine whether the package installed successfully and identify errors during installation. The log file is generated at the end of the package installation and is saved as a text file on the target computer in the user's temp directory.
