4 - Recording In this chapter, we explain basic recording operation procedures. NOTE The maximum number of recording channels for this unit depends on the sampling frequency as follows. oo 44.1/48kHz: 64 channels oo 88.2/96kHz: 32 channels Restrictions on recording operations Due to the specifications of this unit, recording will be restricted when the total number of files and folders inside one folder becomes great. This restriction is as follows. • Recording might be restricted when the total number of files and folders inside a single folder exceeds 10,000 In this case, recording a new take from a stopped state might not be possible. If such a folder is loaded, recording to that folder might not be possible. The following pop-up message will appear in such cases. At such times, Rec Limit will also appear in the remaining recordable time area on the Home Screen. CAUTION The total number of files and folders inside a folder includes files and folders created by devices other than this unit. This also includes files and folders that ordinarily cannot be seen, including management files and system files. Setting the master clock The unit's master clock can be set. 4 – Recording
In this chapter, we explain basic recording operation procedures.
NOTE
The maximum number of recording channels for this unit
depends on the sampling frequency as follows.
o
44.1/48kHz: 64 channels
o
88.2/96kHz: 32 channels
Restrictions on recording operations
Due to the specifications of this unit, recording will be restricted
when the total number of files and folders inside one folder
becomes great. This restriction is as follows.
Recording might be restricted when the total number of
files and folders inside a single folder exceeds 10,000
In this case, recording a new take from a stopped state
might not be possible.
If such a folder is loaded, recording to that folder might not
be possible. The following pop-up message will appear in
such cases. At such times,
Rec Limit
will also appear in
the remaining recordable time area on the Home Screen.
CAUTION
The total number of files and folders inside a folder includes
files and folders created by devices other than this unit.
This also includes files and folders that ordinarily cannot be
seen, including management files and system files.
Setting the master clock
The unit's master clock can be set.
CAUTION
Set up a system with multiple connected digital audio
devices so that it uses only one master clock.
1.
Select the
CLOCK MASTER
item on the
GENERAL
page
to open the
CLOCK
screen. (See “Menu operation proce-
dures” on page 16.)
2.
Set the master clock.

Synchronize with the video clock signal
input through the
WORD/VIDEO IN
connector.
SLOT 1
Synchronize with the SLOT 1 digital
signal clock.
SLOT 2
Synchronize with the SLOT 2 digital

3.
Confirm the setting and return to the Menu Screen.
NOTE
When synchronizing with video clock, the frame rate of the
input signal and this unit’s TC FRAME TYPE setting must
match. (See “TC FRAME TYPE” on page 37.)
If synchronization with the set master clock is not possible,
the unit will switch to its built-in clock and an asterisk (*) will
appear at the end of the selected setting name.
When synchronization with the external master clock
becomes possible again,
External Clock
Regained. Switch to External?
will appear
as a pop-up message.
Press the
MULTI JOG
dial to switch from using the built in
clock to using the external clock as the master clock.
Press the
EXIT [PEAK CLEAR]
button to close the pop-up
menu and continue using the built-in clock as the master
clock. In this case,
* (Regained)
will appear at the end
of the selected setting name.
When
* (Regained)
appears at the end of the selected
setting name, press the
MULTI JOG
dial to open a
