176 Exploring Your Options Toshiba's online resources Uploading and downloading files on the Internet Transferring files from one computer to another is termed uploading (transferring data from your computer to a site on the Web), or downloading (transferring data from a site on the Web to your computer). There are several ways to upload or download data. It can be as simple as attaching a file or document to an email, or you can use the HTTP features of your Web browser to transfer large amounts of data. You can also use the File Transfer Protocol (FTP) supported by a separate software program. Toshiba's online resources Toshiba maintains a number of online sites to which you can connect. These sites provide information about Toshiba products, give help with technical questions, and keep you up to date with future upgrades. For more information, see "Contacting Toshiba" on page 213. Exploring video features Your computer's video features enable you to view Windows® presentations or DVD movies either on the computer screen (display panel or external monitor) or on a television set. For information on connecting: ❖ An external monitor, see "Using external display devices" on page 59. ❖ A television set, see "Viewing presentations or DVD movies on your television" in this section.
