Configuring OSPF Chapter 30 Configuring IP Unicast Routing Beginning in privileged EXEC mode, follow these steps to configure a loopback interface: Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4 Step 5 Step 6 Command configure terminal interface loopback 0 ip address address mask end show ip interface copy running-config startup-config Purpose Enter global configuration mode. Create a loopback interface, and enter interface configuration mode. Assign an IP address to this interface. Return to privileged EXEC mode. Verify your entries. (Optional) Save your entries in the configuration file. Use the no interface loopback 0 global configuration command to disable the loopback interface. Monitoring OSPF You can display specific statistics such as the contents of IP routing tables, caches, and databases. Table 30-7 lists some of the privileged EXEC commands for displaying statistics. For more show ip ospf database privileged EXEC command options and for explanations of fields in the resulting display, refer to the Cisco IOS IP and IP Routing Command Reference for Release 12.1.
