Installing Your Phone Upgrading Your Phone's Firmware 2 On models with no screen, such as the Cisco SPA 501G, the lines should glow green and you should hear a dial tone when picking up the handset or pressing the speakerphone button. If the phone does not start, confirm your installation and connections. If these are correct, try unplugging the phone and plugging it back in again. If you still don't see the display, then contact your phone administrator or Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP). Upgrading Your Phone's Firmware The phone firmware is upgraded automatically from the Cisco Smart Business Communications System (SBCS), according to the administrative settings.
