DES-3326SR Layer 3 Fast Ethernet Switch CLI Reference Manual create snmp host Purpose Used to create a recipient of SNMP traps generated by the switch's SNMP agent. Syntax create snmp host [v1/v2c/v3 [no aut h_no pri v /aut h_no pri v /aut h_pri v ] ] Description The create snmp host command creates a recipient of SNMP traps generated by the switch's SNMP agent. Parameters − The IP address of the remote management station that will serve as the SNMP host for the switch. v1 - Specifies that SNMP version 1 will be used. The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), version 1, is a network management protocol that provides a means to monitor and control network devices. v2c - Specifies that SNMP version 2c will be used. The SNMP v2c supports both centralized and distributed network management strategies. It includes improvements in the Structure of Management Information (SMI) and adds some security features. v3 - Specifies that the SNMP version 3 will be used.
