• Specify the minimum severity level for logging to a syslog server. CONFIGURATION mode logging trap level • Specify the minimum severity level for logging to the syslog history table. CONFIGURATION mode logging history level • Specify the size of the logging buffer. CONFIGURATION mode logging buffered size NOTE: When you decrease the buffer size, the operating system deletes all messages stored in the buffer. Increasing the buffer size does not affect messages in the buffer. • Specify the number of messages that the operating system saves to its logging history table. CONFIGURATION mode logging history size size To view the logging buffer and configuration, use the show logging command in EXEC privilege mode, as shown in the example for Display the Logging Buffer and the Logging Configuration. To view the logging configuration, use the show running-config logging command in privilege mode, as shown in the example for Configure a UNIX Logging Facility Level. Configuring a UNIX Logging Facility Level You can save system log messages with a UNIX system logging facility. To configure a UNIX logging facility level, use the following command. • Specify one of the following parameters.
