CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer). Removing the Middle Frame 1. Follow the instructions in Before You Begin. 2. Remove the back cover (see Removing the Back Cover). 3. Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 5 in Removing the Optical Drive. 4. Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 7 in Removing the Front Stand. 5. Remove the rear stand cover (see Removing the Rear Stand Cover). 6. Remove the system-board shield (see Removing the System-Board Shield). 7. Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector (CN10) on the system board. 8. Make a note of the speaker cable routing and remove the cable from the routing guides. 9. Remove the cables from the routing guides on the middle frame. 10. Remove the 13 screws that secure the middle frame to the chassis. 11. Lift the middle frame at an angle toward the side of the computer and out of the chassis. 12. 7.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the connector (CN10) on the system board.
8.
Make a note of the speaker cable routing and remove the cable from the routing guides.
9.
Remove the cables from the routing guides on the middle frame.
10.
Remove the 13 screws that secure the middle frame to the chassis.
11.
Lift the middle frame at an angle toward the side of the computer and out of the chassis.
