G System Battery Each ProLiant BL e-Class server blade has one memory device that requires a battery for retaining stored information. Server Blade Battery Replacement When the server no longer automatically displays the correct date and time, you may need to replace the battery that provides power to the real-time clock. Under normal use, battery life is usually about 5 to 10 years. Use an HP 540-mAh, lithium, 3-V replacement battery (spare P/N 234556-001). To install a new battery: 1. Power down the server blade. See the "Powering Down a Server Blade" section in Chapter 3. 2. Remove the server blade from the enclosure. See the "Removing a Server Blade" section in Chapter 3.
