Chapter 6 Wireless network setup troubleshooting Use this section to solve these wireless network setup problems: ● I received a System Requirements Error: No TCP/IP ● The *****Printer not Found***** screen appears during installation ● Unable to determine or verify network name during installation ● Verification fails at end of installation ● Setup failed I received a System Requirements Error: No TCP/IP Cause Your Local Area Network card (LAN card or NIC) is not installed properly. Solution Make sure your LAN card is installed properly and set up for TCP/IP. See the instructions that came with your LAN card. The *****Printer not Found***** screen appears during installation Cause The HP Wireless Dock Base is not turned on. Solution Turn on the HP Wireless Dock Base. Cause You do not have an active network connection. Solution Make sure that you have an active network connection. To check your network connection 1. Check the blue Wireless light on the front of your HP Wireless Dock Base to make sure that the radio is on. 2. If the Wireless light is off, select Wireless Radio on the color graphics display Network Menu, and then select On. 3. If the Wireless light goes on, turn off the power on your HP Wireless Dock Base, and then turn it on again. Press the On button on the control panel to turn the HP Wireless Dock Base off, and press it again to turn the device on. Also, turn off the power on your router or hub, and then turn it on again. Cause There is radio interference. Solution Move the HP Wireless Dock Base and the computer closer together. If the distance between your computer or access point and the HP Wireless Dock Base is significant, try reducing the distance. If possible, provide a clear path between the computer or access point and HP Wireless Dock Base, and minimize sources of radio interference. Other wireless devices such a cell phones might also cause radio interference. Wireless network setup troubleshooting
Use this section to solve these wireless network setup problems:
I received a System Requirements Error: No TCP/IP

I received a System Requirements Error: No TCP/IP
Cause
Your Local Area Network card (LAN card or NIC) is not installed properly.
Solution
Make sure your LAN card is installed properly and set up for TCP/IP.
See the instructions that came with your LAN card.
The *****Printer not Found***** screen appears during installation
Cause
The HP Wireless Dock Base is not turned on.
Solution
Turn on the HP Wireless Dock Base.
Cause
You do not have an active network connection.
Solution
Make sure that you have an active network connection.
To check your network connection
1.
Check the blue Wireless light on the front of your HP Wireless Dock Base to
make sure that the radio is on.
2.
If the Wireless light is off, select
Wireless Radio
on the color graphics
display
Network Menu
, and then select
On
.
3.
If the Wireless light goes on, turn off the power on your HP Wireless Dock
Base, and then turn it on again. Press the
On
button on the control panel to
turn the HP Wireless Dock Base off, and press it again to turn the device on.
Also, turn off the power on your router or hub, and then turn it on again.
Cause
There is radio interference.
Solution
Move the HP Wireless Dock Base and the computer closer together. If
the distance between your computer or access point and the HP Wireless Dock
Base is significant, try reducing the distance. If possible, provide a clear path
between the computer or access point and HP Wireless Dock Base, and
