Understanding the LEDs There are 9 Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) located on the front of the system unit, as shown in Figure 1-2. The green one on the far right is the Power LED. It lights when the system unit power is on. The other eight are labeled 8 through 1 (left to right). The rightmost four amber LEDs (labeled 4, 3, 2, and 1) show that the system is running the operating system and communicating over the network. Along with the leftmost four amber LEDs (8, 7, 6, and 5), they also help you to troubleshoot the workstation by coming on in certain patterns during system failures (see Chapter 4). Understanding the LEDs
There are 9 Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) located on the front of the system unit, as
shown in Figure 1–2. The green one on the far right is the Power LED. It lights when
the system unit power is on. The other eight are labeled 8 through 1 (left to right).
The rightmost four amber LEDs (labeled 4, 3, 2, and 1) show that the system is run-
ning the operating system and communicating over the network. Along with the left-
most four amber LEDs (8, 7, 6, and 5), they also help you to troubleshoot the work-
station by coming on in certain patterns during system failures (see Chapter 4).
