Moving this type of disk.... to a slot previously occupied by this type of disk.... results in this behavior. LUN None or Unassigned Global Hot Spare Disk remains part of its original LUN. If disk was moved from another array, the receiving array will try to create a new LUN to accommodate the disk. If the disk is resident, it remains part of its original LUN. Global hot spare If the disk is foreign (from another array), the disk becomes a global hot spare. Failed LUN Disk Disk replaces failed disk and becomes part of new LUN. All original LUN data on disk is lost. Optimal LUN Disk (original disk moved to another slot in the array) Disk remains part of its original LUN. If the disk was moved from another array, the receiving array will try to create a new LUN to accommodate the disk.
