Enhancement Description RAID 0 RAID 0 provides improved performance but without data protection. RAID 0 provides no data redundancy and should only be used for non-critical data. The loss of a single disk in a RAID 0 LUN causes the loss of all data in the LUN. Major event logging Provides greater depth of information on disk array events. This information can improve efficiency when isolating problems. Major event logging logs more types of events than standard logging used on earlier versions of firmware. Major event logging is enabled using the UTM. For more information, see "Managing the Universal Transport Mechanism (UTM)" on page 322. Performance data gathering and viewing Performance data can be gathered and analyzed to determine if the disk array configuration settings can be tuned to achieve better performance. Because of the complexity involved in interpreting the data, customers should not perform this task. For more information, see "Gathering Performance Data" on page 329. -force option added to amutil The -force option formats the disk array even if there are LUNs on it. syswipe command For more information, see "Reformatting the Disk Array Media" on page 331. -rr option added to amutil command The -rr option changes the status of a disk drive to REPLACED. For more information, see "Changing Disk State" on page 336. amlog -t -mel option added The -mel option displays major event log contents. For more information, see "Viewing Disk Array Logs" on page 341. 350
