TENTATIVE 2. Adjusting the Gain Manually GAIN button GAIN SHUTTER MENU SELECT dial + 6 dB S 6dB M S TBY Indication of set gain value ● If the SELECT dial is pressed while the set gain value is displayed, the setting is returned to the factory setting (0 dB). ● In the auto gain adjustment mode, the GAIN button remains inoperative. 1. Press the GAIN button. ● The currently set gain value is shown for about 3 seconds on the LCD screen and the viewfinder screen. ● The gain value can be set while the gain value is displayed. 2. Rotate the SELECT dial within 3 seconds (while the gain value is displayed) to set the gain. Rotating the dial upward or downward increases or decreases the gain value in steps of 1 dB. 3. Stop rotating the SELECT dial when the desired gain value is indicated. The set value is displayed for about 3 seconds before the setting is confirmed. [Setting range: -3 dB to 0 dB to +18 dB, LOLUX] ● The set gain value is retained in the memory even if the power is turned OFF. Ⅲ To return to the auto gain adjustment mode, use either of the following methods. ● Set the AE item to AUTO on the OPERATION menu screen ● Set the MODE item to AUTO on the TOP MENU screen. Engaging the LOLUX Mode with the GAIN Button In the auto or manual gain adjustment mode, the LOLUX mode can be entered directly by operating the GAIN button. GAIN button GAIN SHUTTER MENU About the LOLUX mode Used when the brightness is still insufficient when the gain is set at +18 dB. Engaging the LOLUX mode results in an increase of +24 dB (approximately 16 times). The image definition on the screen will degrade to increase residual images, but this is due to the electrical sensitising and is not a malfunction. Operation 1. Press the GAIN button for 1 second or more. ● The LOLUX mode is engaged. The "L" indicator for the LOLUX mode appears on the LCD screen and the viewfinder screen. S L M LOLUX mode indicator S TBY 2. To exit the LOLUX mode, press the GAIN button for 1 second or more. ● The originally set gain value is restored. 73 74
