TENTATIVE CAMERA Menu Screen (Cont'd) Item Set Value Contents BLACK ● NORMAL Selects the gain for the dark section of the image. Set to an STRETCH appropriate position in accordance with the subject. COMPRESS NORMAL : Standard mode. STRETCH : By stretching the signal only for the dark section, contrast in the dark portion of the image is enhanced. COMPRESS : When an entire image is relatively light and the contrast is low, the gain of the dark section is compressed to increase the contrast. COLOR MATRIX ● ON OFF Sets the color matrix. ON: The color reproducibility is enhanced, but noise increases. OFF: The function is off. Memo: When the GAMMA item is set to CINEMA, the "- - -" indication will be shown for the COLOR MATRIX item and the item cannot be set. GAMMA PAGE BACK ● NORMAL CINEMA Selects the gamma curve which determines the reproduction of black. NORMAL : Standard condition. Normally, this setting is used. CINEMA : Cinema mode. This setting is used to obtain a gamma curve similar to that of cinema movies. The TOP MENU returns when the SELECT dial is pressed. MENU SCREEN Contents of Menu Screens (cont'd) OPERATION Menu Screen The OPERATION menu screen can only be set in the manual shooting mode. The position ("CAM A" or "CAM B") of the MODE switch is indicated after the menu title name. The item values set off by the ⅷ symbol are the factory settings when the MODE switch is set to CAM-A. The item values set off by the ⅜ symbol are the factory settings when the MODE switch is set to CAM-B. Item AE IRIS SHUTTER WHITE BALANCE OIS CH1 AUDIO LEVEL CH2 AUDIO LEVEL PAGE BACK Set Value Contents ● ON OFF Sets the AE (automatic exposure) function to ON or OFF. ON : AE function operates. Gain is set to ALC, shutter to EEI, and iris is set to auto iris. OFF : AE function does not operate. ● When ON, "-" is displayed for the following IRIS and SHUTTER items that cannot be set in this condition. ● AUTO ⅙ MANUAL Selects automatic or manual iris adjustment. Enabled when the AE item is OFF. AUTO : Selects the auto mode. MANUAL : Selects the manual mode. ● STEP VARIABLE Selects whether fixed shutter speed (STEP) or variable scanning rate should be employed for manual shutter speed adjustment. Enabled when the AE item is OFF. STEP : Enables setting of different fixed shutter speeds. (1/100, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000, 1/2000) VARIABLE : For changing the shutter speed at variable scanning rate. Selected when shooting computer monitor screens, etc. (60.1 Hz to 2084.6 Hz) ● AUTO Selects automatic or manual white balance adjustment. ⅙ PUSH AUTO AUTO : Selects the auto mode. PUSH AUTO : Selects the manual mode. ⅙ OFF ● ON Selects whether or not camera-shake compensation should operate. OFF : Not operating. ON : Operating. ● AUTO ⅙ MANUAL Selects whether the recording level adjustment of the CH1 channel sound is performed automatically or manually. AUTO : Selects the auto mode. MANUAL : Selects the manual mode. ● AUTO ⅙ MANUAL Selects whether the recording level adjustment of the CH2 channel sound is performed automatically or manually. AUTO : Selects the auto mode. MANUAL : Selects the manual mode. The TOP MENU returns when the SELECT dial is pressed. 97 98
