„„ Setting the memory transmission / real time transmission There are two types of automatic transmission; memory transmission, which starts transmission after the document is scanned, and real time transmission, which performs transmission while the document is being scanned. This explanation indicates the procedure for selecting either transmission method for a single fax transmission. • Memory transmission transmits the document after scanning the document into memory. This allows you to take the document and leave without waiting for the transmission to end, enabling you to save time. • Real time transmission directly transmits the document to the other fax machine without scanning the document into memory. Transmission starts after the transmission operation, which allows you to easily confirm that the fax is sent to the other machine. 1 Load the document. 2 Press [Fax] on My MFP Menu screen. If My MFP Menu screen is not displayed, press repeatedly until "Fax Ready" screen is displayed. 3 Press [Advanced]. 4 Press [Memory Tx]. 5 Select [ON] to perform memory transmission or [OFF] to perform real time transmission, and press [Enter]. 6 Press [Close]. 7 Specify the destinations, and press . • For details on specifying the destinations, see "Specifying destinations" (page 5-2). • If you loaded the document in the automatic document feeder, this concludes the procedure. • If you loaded the document on the document glass, the message "Set next document." is displayed when the loaded documents have been scanned. Setting the memory transmission / real time transmission
There are two types of automatic transmission; memory transmission, which starts
transmission after the document is scanned, and real time transmission, which performs
transmission while the document is being scanned.

Load the document.

Press [Fax] on My MFP Menu screen.
If My MFP Menu screen is not displayed, press <Mode> repeatedly until “Fax Ready” screen is
displayed.
