Viewing Photographs on TV The supplied EG-D2 audio video cable can be used to connect the camera to a television or VCR for playback or recording. A type C mini-pin High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) cable (available separately from third-party suppliers) can be used to connect the camera to high-definition video devices. Standard Definition Devices To connect the camera to a standard television: 1 Turn the camera off. Always turn the camera off before connecting or disconnecting the video cable. 2 Connect the supplied audio video cable as shown. Audio (white) Video (yellow) Q Connect to video device Connect to camera 3 Tune the television to the video channel. 4 Turn the camera on and press the K button. During playback, images will be displayed both in the camera monitor and on the television screen. A Video Mode (pg. 203) Be sure that the video standard matches the standard used in the video device. Note that resolution will drop when images are output on a PAL device. A Television Playback Use of an EH-5a or EH-5 AC adapter (available separately) is recommended for extended playback. When the EH-5a or EH-5 is connected, the camera monitor-off delay will be fixed at ten minutes and the exposure meters will no longer turn off automatically. Note that the edges may not be visible when photographs are viewed on a television screen. 146
