b: Metering/Exposure b1: EV Steps for Exposure Cntrl. This option (available in all shooting modes) determines whether adjustments to shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, flash compensation, and bracketing are made in increments equivalent to 1/3 EV or 1/2 EV. Option Description H 1/3 step (default) Changes to shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, and flash compensation are in increments equivalent to 1/3 EV. The bracketing increment can be selected from 1/3, 2/3, and 1 EV. Changes to shutter speed, aperture, exposure compensation, and flash I 1/2 step compensation are in increments equivalent to 1/2 EV. The bracketing increment can be selected from 1/2 and 1 EV. b2: Easy Exposure Compensation This option (available in P, S, A, and M modes) controls whether the E button is needed to set exposure compensation (pg. 90). If On is selected, the 0 at the center of the exposure display will blink even when exposure compensation is set to ±0. Option Description Exposure compensation can be set by rotating one of the command dials (see note On below). Selected value does not change when exposure meters turn off, camera is turned off, or Off is selected for Custom Setting b2. Off Exposure compensation is set by pressing the E button and rotating the main (default) command dial. A Change Main/Sub L The dial used to set exposure compensation when On is selected for Custom Setting b2 (Easy exposure compensation) depends on the option selected for Custom Setting f5 (Customize command dials) > Change main/sub (pg. 201).
