10. Help Problem Static, sound cuts in/out, fades. Interference from other electrical units. While programming, the handset starts to ring. I cannot redial by pressing {REDIAL}. "Recharge battery" is displayed, 68879 flashes or the handset beeps intermittently. "Charge for 6h" and 68889 are displayed and the handset does not work. I charged the battery fully, but "Recharge battery" is still displayed and/or 68879 continues to flash, or "Charge for 6h" and 68889 are displayed. The [CHARGE] indicator does not go out after the battery has been charged. I cannot receive documents by pressing {*}{#}{9} on the handset. The handset display is blank. I cannot have a conversation using the headset. I cannot program items. Cause & Solution L Move the handset and the base unit away from other electrical appliances. L Move closer to the base unit. L Raise the base unit antenna. L To answer a call, press {TALK} or {SP-PHONE}. Start again from the beginning after hanging up. L If the last number dialed was more than 48 digits long, the number will not be redialed correctly. L Fully charge the battery (page 20). L The battery has been discharged. Fully charge the battery (page 20). L Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 20). L The battery may need to be replaced (page 17). If you install a new battery, fully charge it (page 20). L This is normal. L You must set remote fax activation to ON (feature #41 on page 72) beforehand. L Press {*}{#}{9} firmly. L The memory is full of received documents due to a lack of recording paper or a recording paper jam. Install paper or clear the jammed paper. L Fully charge the battery (page 20). L Make sure that an optional headset is connected properly (page 18). L If "SP-phone" is displayed on the handset, press {TALK} to switch to the headset. L Programming is not possible while the handset and/or base unit is being used. L Do not pause for over 1 minute while programming. L Move closer to the base unit.
