Initial Setup SURROUND SETUP MENU Speaker Setting Starting from this procedure use the SURROUND SETUP menu. To access the menu follow steps 1-3 on p.28 and in step three choose SURROUND SETUP (SURROUND SET is shown on the receiver's display). The steps below show you how to specify the type of speakers you connected. Use the 5¥∞ buttons to make a selection from the on-screen menus, and use the ENTER button to register the information. To specify each speaker individually select FREE. If you connected a complete set of THX speakers select THX and skip step 4. See the explanations on the next page for the meaning of each size. 1 Use the 5 or ∞ buttons (or MULTI JOG dial) to move the cursor to the speaker you want to adjust. 2 Press ENTER to select that speaker. The speaker size will flash in the receiver's display. 3 Press 5 or ∞ to move the setting to LARGE, SMALL, or NO depending on the size of your speakers (you can't select NO for the FRONT speakers and the SURROUND BACK speakers have a few more settings). See below for detailed explanations. 4 Press ENTER. 5 Repeat 2 - 4 for each speaker. 33
