Making Calls General Functions This feature can be used on all devices for which the system administrator has configured a device ID. This means that you can also save a dialout for another user who, e. g. also has a system telephone. 2.1.5 DTMF Postdial/VF Signalling Depending on the system's configuration, your telephone is automatically set to VF (voice frequency) signalling in the connection state. You can use this, for example, to query an answering machine or a voice mailbox. Consult your system administrator if you have questions concerning this function. With the OpenPhone 63 IP and OpenPhone 65 IP telephones no postdialling via DTMF is supported for ISDN or SIP lines. 2.1.6 Muting Pressing the muting key (only on the OpenPhone 63 and the OpenPhone 65) deactivates the microphone during a call, and the person at the other end of the line can no longer hear you. Press the key again to switch the microphone back on. 2.1.7 Call-charge Display, Duration Display If your network operator transmits call charge information, and if you have dialled an external number yourself, you will see the current amount of the charge in the Info line during or at the end of a call. The menu item Charge settings in the Phone settings MenuCard lets you deactivate this or switch to the duration display. 2.1.8 Adjusting the Volume with the Plus/Minus Key Use the plus/minus key to adjust the volume of the loudspeaker in open-lis- tening/hands-free mode or the volume of the handset during a call via the handset, or the volume of the ringer tone when you receive a call. Note: When the telephone is in its idle state again, it reverts to the default menu setting. 37
