Problem 4 Solutions Problem 5 Solutions Problem 6 Solutions Documents are not scanned according to the settings configured in the scanner driver. When you scan using [Select document] panel registered with CaptureOnTouch, the CaptureOnTouch settings have priority over the scanner driver settings. Edit settings in the [Select document] panel, or create a new [Select document] panel using the desired scanning conditions. If white lines or streaks appear in scanned images. Clean the scanning glass (both sides) and the feed and retard rollers. If a sticky substance such as glue or correction fluid is found, carefully wipe with just enough pressure to clean the area where the lines appear. If the problem cannot be solved by cleaning, the internal glass may be scratched. Contact your local authorized Canon dealer. Scanned images are too dark (or light). The brightness setting may need adjustment. Adjust the [Brightness] setting on the [Brightness] tab sheet of the scanner driver: higher if the images are too dark, and lower if too light. (1) Increase the [Brightness] setting on the scanner driver's [Brightness] tab sheet. Alternatively, enable the "Prevent Bleed Through/Remove Background" setting. (2) If the paper is very thin, photocopy the original and scan the copy. Duplex (two-sided) scanning is not possible. Duplex scanning is not possible if the Scanning Side setting is set to [Simplex]. On the scanner driver's [Basic] tab sheet, set [Scanning Side] to [Duplex]. If Scanning Side is set to [Skip blank page], images of blank pages are not saved. A black margin appears around scanned document images. A black margin appears when a document smaller than the preset papersize is scanned, or when the loaded document has shifted out of position. Make the following scanner driver settings. (1) On the [Basic] tab sheet, set the [Page Size] to [Match original size]. (2) Adjust the margin setting in the minus direction ([Basic tab] - [Page Size] - [Page Size Settings] - [Scan Area] tab) (3) Enable [Border Removal] ([Image processing] tab - [Border Removal]) 130
